Privacy policy

1. Who we are

IQUEUE BARBERS LIMITED (company number 09336143), registered office 63 Westbury Road, Ipswich IP4 4RE, United Kingdom, is the controller of your personal data. Contact: info@iqbook.io.

2. What we collect

Account: your name, email address, language, and optionally your phone number.

Activity: the salons you connect to, your places in queues, your appointments and the services chosen, notes you add, reviews you write, and the notifications we send you.

Device: your push notification token, device type and app version.

For salons and their staff: business details, opening hours, team members, photos, offers and the customer activity of that salon.

Payments: when payments are switched on they are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number.

Website: our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our host keeps basic server logs for security.

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

To run the service you asked for: queues, bookings, reminders and your account (contract).

To keep the service safe, fix problems and prevent misuse (legitimate interests).

To send push notifications and optional messages (your permission, which you can withdraw in your phone settings or in the app).

To meet legal and accounting duties (legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who can see it

The salon you connect to or book with sees your name, your bookings and queue places with them, your notes and your history with that salon.

Other customers in a queue see only your first name and the first letter of your last name.

Our service providers process data for us under contract: Supabase (hosting and database, Ireland), Resend (email), Google Firebase and Apple (push notifications), Stripe (payments) and Google (maps).

We share data with authorities only where the law requires it.

5. Where it is stored

Your data is stored in the European Union (Ireland). When a provider processes data outside the UK or EU, we rely on approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (up to 6 years). Backups are overwritten within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent at any time.

Write to info@iqbook.io. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority in your country.

8. Children

IQBook is not meant for children under 16. A parent or guardian should make bookings for younger children.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited by role: customers see only their own data, and staff see only their own salon.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.

11. California, Canada and Australia

This section adds information for residents of California and some other US states (CCPA/CPRA), Canada (PIPEDA) and Australia (Privacy Act 1988).

In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information from you and from the salons you use: identifiers (name, email address, phone number, user ID, push notification token); commercial information (bookings, queue places and deposits paid); internet or app activity (your activity inside IQBook); and content you add (reviews, notes, photos). We use them only to run IQBook, as set out in section 3. We do not collect precise location: the position of your phone is used on your phone to show distances and is not sent to us.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We disclose it only to the salons you deal with and to the service providers in section 4, who act for us under contract. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

California residents can ask to know what we hold, to have it deleted or corrected, and can expect equal service if they use these rights. Canadian and Australian residents can ask for access to their data and for it to be corrected, and can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

To use these rights write to info@iqbook.io from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm it is you. You can also ask someone to write on your behalf if they can show your written permission. We answer within 45 days.

Our website and apps do not track you across other companies’ websites or apps, so there is no “Do Not Track” signal to respond to.
